Barcelona-based start-up Ultrasion SL has developed a new micro moulding technology. Based on the use of ultrasonic vibration as the plastic melting agent, the technique can produce intricate precise parts without heating elements, screw and barrel configuration.

Medical device OEMs face numerous challenges, not least the development of smaller and smaller products and components with greater and greater functionality. Miniaturisation of medical devices is driven by the requirement for less invasive interventions.
