Ultrasonic micro-moulding is especially valuable for thin-walled, long or flat medical products/components. It opens up new possibilities for product innovation by exceeding the limitations of existing ‘injection’ moulding technologies. The technology does away with the traditional screw and barrel approach used in injection moulding technologies, and is characterised by huge energy savings, minimal material wastage, high accuracy, and also — through the use of ultrasonics — the ability to induce extremely low viscosity in melted materials.
